I am so frustrated right now!!! Editing a movie and adding all of the small effects like music, titles, themes and sounds and special effects takes so much time!!! Frankly, my eyes start to blur and my behind hurts from being in one position too long!!! My utmost respect to the people who work in the Hollywood movie industry. I am not so sure I want to give up my day job at this point. I spent some time chopping up a video of my son and his friend at George Washington Carver National Monument and it looks terrible!!! UGH! Honestly, I thought it was easier than it looked....And I still have noise and unsightly arms and legs in my video. I will definitely not be complaining the next time I have to spend $9.50 to see a movie at the theater. I don't know about the actors, but the movie technicians certainly earn their money....Oh Imovie- how I wish I knew thee well....

BP_13_IMOVIE Take 2
Well I am back. I have a 9 sec video clip of my husband's friend at medical school this year learning how to give insulin injections. Although this may seem mundane, I have made a short video on it. I think it would be a lot better if I could slow the video down as well as hold it on the hands in the air gesture. Of course, since I cannot use "Chariots of Fire" due to copyright infringement, I made it like a news broadcast. I would love to have hours to devote to using all the features but since I do have 3 children under 13, have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, and am the sole financial supporter of my family, I tend to use what I can, when I can.

Fellow Bloggers,
I must admit something to you..... I am a convert. Until recently, I was a PC user. I was a master at Windows Movie Maker and using Nero to edit my movies and slide shows. When I got my Mac Book pro, I did not even know how to turn it on or how to get into different programs, let alone use iMovie effectively. Although I have the basic idea of how to make a simple slide show, I would like to learn more about editing, using special effects as well as incorporating music and voice overs to my little projects. I have a dream to make a small documentary about people who come to America to live and why. I want to call it "Faces of Freedom". I already have my subjects in mind, my direction and questions, but I really want to use iMovie to put this film together. I know, many of you are saying, ELizabeth, iMovie is not a professional program. I understand that, but this movie is for me. I can always upgrade later. My goals for iMovie are:
1. Timing
2. Voice Over
3. Slides and music
4. Effects
5. Fading out
Well, off to practice.... Take 2- iMovie ACTION
